From Saigon’s lively streets to Angkor, with seven nights on the Mekong

Step aboard RV Jayavarman and let the river set the rhythm: coffee on your private balcony, village visits that bring the Lower Mekong to life, and evenings watching the shoreline slip past. This 13-day Vietnam and Cambodia journey pairs two nights in Ho Chi Minh City with seven cruise nights and three nights in Siem Reap, where Angkor’s extraordinary temples complete the trip.

Travel Ho Chi Minh City → My Tho → Vietnamese Mekong Delta → Phnom Penh → Cambodia’s seasonal river route → Siem Reap and Angkor. You move onwards between the two countries, with the cruise doing the connecting and your land arrangements coordinated by Vietpower Travel. Your twelve nights combine city stays, the seven-night voyage and time to experience Angkor.

Already booked your flights? Send us your arrival and departure

Send your Ho Chi Minh City arrival and Siem Reap departure, travel dates and party size. We will match a suitable RV Jayavarman departure, connect your hotel stays and airport transfers, and shape the land visits around your interests. Design our Mekong journey or email our travel team.

A changing world outside, a familiar retreat on board

For seven nights, your balcony cabin becomes a comfortable base as river towns, working boats and Cambodian landscapes unfold around you. Unpack once for the voyage, step ashore for the day's discoveries, then return to a meal, a quiet deck and your own space to unwind. It is a rewarding way to connect two countries without changing hotels each night.

The land stays give you a different kind of freedom: time to enjoy Saigon before sailing and guided Angkor discoveries afterwards. Tell us whether you value a particular cabin, a restful hotel, food experiences or extra time after the cruise. Vietpower Travel brings the sailing and the land arrangements together, so you have one clear holiday plan and a team to contact throughout.

Share your preferred month, party size and cabin wishes. Ask for a Jayavarman departure and a personalised Vietnam–Cambodia proposal, with the services and total quotation set out before you book or email our travel team.

A river journey with room to savour the experience

Your own balcony, a changing view: RV Jayavarman has 27 cabins with private balconies. Settle into your chosen cabin, enjoy the onboard meals and make the most of the time between excursions: a quiet deck chair, a dip in the pool or simply the pleasure of watching life along the banks.

Meet the delta beyond the city: step ashore for small river towns, traditional crafts and village life. Boat outings and local transport take you closer to the places that make this region distinctive. Discover the communities, waterways and local crafts featured on your sailing. Explore our Mekong Delta tours if you would like extra time in southern Vietnam.

Two contrasting Cambodian experiences: Phnom Penh introduces royal architecture and the country’s history; village excursions reveal a different pace along the river. Then enjoy three nights in Siem Reap and included Angkor sightseeing, from Banteay Srei’s intricate carvings to Ta Prohm’s tree-rooted walls and Angkor Wat at first light.

Make the land stays your own

Choose your preferred hotel class in Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap, discuss a cabin upgrade, add a rest day or build a beach extension after the journey. Couples, friends and families can tailor the land programme with Vietpower Travel. The cruise is a scheduled voyage shared with other guests; its sailing dates and excursion timetable provide the framework for your personalised holiday.

What we confirm in writing

  • Your cruise departure, cabin category, two Ho Chi Minh City hotel nights, seven cruise nights, three Siem Reap hotel nights and land sightseeing arrangements.
  • The high- or low-water Cambodia route and your Day 10 disembarkation point. A low-water road transfer to Siem Reap usually takes around four to four-and-a-half hours; high water may allow a closer disembarkation point.
  • Your quoted inclusions, meals, local transfers, any supplements, deposit and cancellation terms. The displayed price is a starting reference; the final quotation reflects your dates, party and service choices.
  • Entry requirements for each traveller’s passport and the river-border procedure. Visa fees and international flights are excluded; documents must be ready before travel.
  • Walking levels, children’s arrangements, dietary needs and alternatives to sensitive historical visits. Water levels and local conditions determine the final cruise excursion order.

Questions about your Vietnam and Cambodia river journey

Is this a 13-day cruise or a 13-day holiday?

It is a 13-day holiday with 12 nights: two hotel nights in Ho Chi Minh City, seven nights on RV Jayavarman and three hotel nights in Siem Reap. The upstream cruise occupies Days 3–10.

Where does the journey start and finish?

It starts in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and finishes in Siem Reap, Cambodia. You join the ship after an overland transfer to My Tho. Send your booked flights so Vietpower Travel can coordinate your airport transfers and sailing date.

Is Angkor sightseeing included?

Yes. This sample includes the Siem Reap land programme: Roluos and Banteay Srei on Day 11, followed by Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm on Day 12. It is not simply an optional suggestion after the cruise.

Does the ship sail directly into Siem Reap all year?

No. The Cambodian route changes with water levels. Low water normally requires disembarkation on the Mekong and a road transfer of around four to four-and-a-half hours to Siem Reap. High-water sailings may use a closer Tonle Sap disembarkation point. We confirm the actual route for your departure.

Are the cruise and excursions private?

RV Jayavarman is a scheduled cruise with other guests and an organised shore programme. Vietpower Travel can tailor your hotel stays, airport transfers and land visits; we specify which arrangements are private or shared in the quotation.

Can families or travellers with mobility needs join?

Tell us children’s ages and any mobility needs before selecting a departure. Excursions can include uneven village paths, steps, local boats and getting on and off the ship. We will discuss the cabin rules and suitable land arrangements for your group.

Which visas and documents do we need?

Requirements depend on nationality and your river-border entry points. Send your passport nationality and travel route to Vietpower Travel before booking. Visa fees are excluded, and the required entry documents must be arranged before joining the voyage.

Can we change hotels or extend the holiday?

Yes. Choose different hotel classes, request a cruise cabin upgrade or add time before or after the voyage. Browse our Vietnam and Indochina tours for connected journeys, then send your preferences for a personalised quotation.

Let us connect your river cruise and land holiday

Send your dates, travellers, preferred hotel class and cabin choice. We will prepare a connected itinerary and written quotation. Design our Mekong journey or email our travel team.

Prepare for your Mekong and Angkor journey

Pack for life ashore and aboard: light breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and an easy day bag for village outings. Temple visits require respectful clothing covering shoulders and knees. Keep your passport and the required entry documents readily available for the river-border procedure.

A comfortable pace for the land stays

The first two hotel nights let you discover Ho Chi Minh City before the cruise. After disembarkation, three Siem Reap nights give you time for the included Angkor programme. Tell us if you want a gentler temple day, an extra rest night or different hotel choices; we will build these into the personalised land arrangements.

River seasons and arrival planning

Book flights around a confirmed ship departure. The Cambodian high- and low-water routes use different excursion sequences and disembarkation points; allow for the road transfer into Siem Reap on Day 10. You do not need a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap during the cruise. Vietpower Travel sends the confirmed pickup, sailing and land-transfer details before travel.

Tell us what will make the trip feel right

Share dietary preferences, children’s ages, mobility needs and any visits you would rather skip. Sensitive historical sites and uneven temple paths need thoughtful planning. Your written quotation sets out private/shared arrangements, rooms, cabins, meals, supplements and payment terms before you book.
